People's Choice
For those who attended the inaugural Students of Balmain Art School exhibition, the visit was spiced up with an invitation to choose their favourite painting for the People’s Choice award.
The popularity of the competition, which yielded 333 votes, has led school principal, Stephen Wilson, to declare it a feature of all future student exhibitions. As an added bonus, the winner will receive a scholarship of a full term’s lessons. Not wanting to disappoint our inaugural People’s Choice winner, Stephen has awarded the scholarship retrospectively. Thus our March SBAS People's Choice winner, Lisa Northwood, is the first recipient of the ‘SBAS Scholarship’ for her much-admired painting titled ‘The Octopus Tree’.
